Isabel Bennett Oxton was the youngest child of Samuel Bennett and Sarah Patterson in St. Field, County Down, Ireland. She immigrated with her father, a brother, and a sister. She married John Oxton in 1858 in Westfield, Marquette County, Wisconsin. She was the mother of six children, of which only one preceded her in death.
