She married Lawrence Kenneth Cone in May 1928. They moved to Athol in 1936, where her late husband was employed at the Highland Press for several years until his retirement. She worked beside her husband for many years as they raised their two daughters. In later years, Clarice would work as an accountant for a local garage while continuing her interest in music as the organist and choir director for the First Church in Templeton, Mass., position she held until her retirement in her late 80s. She was a member of the Athol Congregational Church where she was a volunteer in many organizations in the church as well as in the community. She will be remembered for her life-long interest in music. She joined her church choir and was the choir director in the Orange Congregational Church, the creator and director of a women's singing group in Athol, while supporting her husband's interest in the “Singing Men of Athol” during their many years of rehearsal, concerts and fund raisers.
She also enjoyed fostering a latent interest in oil painting by taking lessons on a weekly basis where she had a particular interest in copying small animals, large landscapes, to the delight of family members and friends who were recipients of many lovely gifts of oils done over the years. Her love for traveling with her husband to visit friends and relatives all over the U.S. and taking bus tours in their later years were very special events. Of particular to both were the trips they made to Canada to visit her husband's sister and husband.
