Byron A. "Barney" Reeves, 68, of 2726 W. Creston Lane died Saturday, Jan. 20, 1996, in Saint Francis Medical Center. Born Nov. 10, 1927, in St. Paul, Minn., to Walter A. and Sophie Huffman Reeves, he married Janie E. Chapman on Nov. 7, 1950, in Peoria. She survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Kirk E. of Peoria and Kent D. of Collinsville; one sister, Mrs. Norman (Donna) Vollmer of Two Harbors, Minn.; and one brother, Robert L. of Manito. He was preceded in death by one brother. He was a driver for Baumgarten Distributing until he retired in 1982. He previously was a driver for R.J. Distributing and was a foreman for Armour and Co.
He was a Korean War Army veteran.
Burial will be in Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria.
