Dale entered the U.S. Army on October 1, 1962 in Phoenix, AZ. He served most of his enlistment in Germany before being honorably discharged on September 1, 1965 in Fort Dix, NJ.
Dale was united in marriage with Ella May Holzwarth on May 1, 1971 in Sioux Falls, SD. The family lived in Iowa before returning to Sioux Falls in 1980. At that time, Dale began working for Willer's Truck Service. Health reasons forced his retirement in 1993 after 13 years of service.
Dale was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church. He enjoyed bowling, gardening and fishing. Above all, he cherished his family and spending time with them.
Dale was preceded in death by his parents.
