She was a graduate of Machias High School, and then worked as a welder in the shipyards during WWII. She married her beloved husband Edmund "Eddie" F. Murphy in 1949. She enjoyed knitting, cooking, and spending time with family.
She is survived by a son, Michael Murphy and his wife, Traci; a granddaughter, Amanda Boynton and husband, Robert; a grandson, Michael Murphy II and wife, Kirby; great-grandchildren, Justin, Ryan, and Carter; nephews, John Bridges and Teddy Bridges; friends, Neal Sprague, Horace Moore, and Billy Moore.
In addition to her parents, and husband, Eddie, she was predeceased by a brother, Richard Bridges, and a nephew, Paul Bridges.
