Stella Moran of Cedar Falls Is Taken by Death
Cedar Falls--Mrs. Stella Moran, 81, died early Monday at the Swartzell convalescent home, 524 West Sixth street, where she had been a resident since last June 1. Her death climaxed several years of invalidism at her home, Ninth and Olive.
She had spent six months at Sartori Memorial hospital before going to the convalescent home.
Born Stella Wilson at Milan, Ind., July 22, 1869, she came to Iowa with her parents when she was a child. They located near New Hartford. She was married to Joseph W. Moran at New Hartford Nov. 19, 1899, and they engaged in farming in that locality. Later they bought a farm four miles north of Cedar Falls, where they lived many years before retiring.
They moved to Cedar Falls to the home at Ninth and Olive about 30 years ago, where Mr. Moran died in September, 1945.
The couple had no children of their own but reared a foster daughters, now Mrs. Gladys Lemmers, residing somewhere in California.
Mrs. Moran is survived by four brothers and a sisters. They include Charles Wilson, 1513 Iowa; Evan L., Waterloo; Clyde, Parkersburg, Frank, Aurora, Ind., and Mrs. Myrtle Manlif, Milan, Ind.
Mrs. Moran was a member of First Baptist church of Cedar Falls, of the Order of Eastern Star, and of the Rebekah lodge.
Funeral arrangements are pending. The body is at the Jungkun-Nelson funeral home.
