Note: Solomon came to Western, MA with his father, Peter, and the rest of the family about 1742/43. Solomon, yeoman, bought land in Western from his father Peter in 1750. Solomn served as a Private in Captain Josiah Putnam's Company of Colonel Jedediah Foster's Regiment which marched April 21, 1775 in response to the alarm at Roxbury, MA; service 8 days. He served as a Private in Captain Ebenezer Newell's Company of Colonel Keyes' Regiment from August 16, 1777 to January 4, 1778 and was stationed in RI. He served as a private raised by the town of Western in support of the Continental Army for the term of 9 months from the time of their arrival at Fishkill, NY as returned by Lieutenant William Cowee, dated May 14, 1778; age 49 years, stature 5 ft 11 inches; complexion dark; assigned to Captain Joseph Cutler's Company of Colonel Converse's Regiment. According to the History of Barnard, VT "Solomon, son of Peter and Hannah Blackmer, settled in Barnard and died in 1813", which is a discrepancy from the Three Blackmores cited death of 1805 in Western, MA. In 1791 Solomon was admitted freeman at Barnard, VT.
