EASTLAND/PHARR – Joel Hernandez, 33, died Sunday, September 21, 2014, in Eastland, TX. He had lived in Eastland two years. Joel and his inseparable twin brother Javier were born in Edinburg and raised in Pharr in the family residence.

He is survived by his two children, Emily Victoria Hernandez and Oscar Manuel “Boy” Hernandez, both of Weslaco; former spouse, Gabriela Lopez of Weslaco; mother, Silvia Hernandez of Pharr; twin brother, Javier Hernandez of Pharr/Eastland, TX; one sister, Celeste Hernandez; two half-brothers, Jose Moctezuma, Jr. and Ricardo Moctezuma, both of Houston, TX; a half-sister, Patricia Moctezuma of Houston, TX; father, Jesus Moctezuma of Mexico; maternal grandparents, Eusebio “Juan” and Isabel G. Hernandez; four aunts, Sonia Palomin, Sandra Weaver, Cynthia (Santiago Ramirez) Roque, and Isabel Treviño; eight uncles, Arturo (Connie) Treviño, Oscar (Deanna) Treviño, Sgt. Juan (Diana) Hernandez, Refugio Hernandez, Jorge (Eduarda) Hernandez, Robert (Martha) Hernandez, Cesar (Ruby) Hernandez, and Joey (Myrna) Hernandez; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

We will always honor him in our most loving and cherished memories, may he rest in peace.

Interment will follow service at San Juan Cemetery.

Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
