Kenneth Earl Richmond, Age 84, of Burlington, passed away on Tuesday, December 6, 2011 at Oak Ridge Care Center in Union Grove.

Kenneth was born June 12, 1927 in Burlington to the late Ellis and Evelyn (nee Clark) Richmond. He was a lifetime resident of Burlington and had proudly served in the United States Navy. Kenneth was then drafted into the United States Army and had served during the Korean War, during which he received a Purple Heart.

On January 13, 1951 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Burlington, Kenneth was united in marriage… to Ruth Zehren. Following marriage they made their home in Burlington. Kenneth worked as a truck driver and a mechanic for Echo Lake Produce. He was a member of the D.A.V. and the WI Bow Hunters Association. Kenneth was a Boy Scout Leader and enjoyed hunting, fishing and building campers. He was also an avid bowler and enjoyed bowling on various leagues, including the Jolly Senior Bowling League. Kenneth enjoyed model trains, reading Westerns, playing cards and traveling.

Survivors include his loving wife, Ruth Richmond, their children; Karen (Henry Otterness) Dubinsky of Twin Lakes, Rick Richmond of Milwaukee, Kay Bydalek of Burlington, Ralph (Vicky) Richmond of Burlington and Randy (Mary) Richmond of Elkhorn, grandchildren; Brian Dubinsky, Katie (Kevin) Rice, Tiffany Richmond, Logan and Noelle Bydalek, Jason (Rachel) Richmond, Joshua Richmond, Jared (Josie) Richmond, Tyler Richmond and Ashley Richmond and by great-grandchildren; Ellysa, Torri, Haley, Ethan, Wesley, Evan, Abbeygale and Anthony. Kenneth is further survived by sisters; Ruth Tutt of Waukesha, Leola Gruling of Montello and Suzanne Becker of Peru, IL and by sisters-in-law, Elaine Richmond of Porterfield and Marvelyn Forst of Burlington. Kenneth is preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Jeanette (Lyle) Curtiss and Violet (Donald) Shake, brother, Jack Richmond, and by brothers-in-law, John Tutt, Victor Gruling and David Becker.

The family would like to express a special thank you to the Burlington ICU staff as well as the staff at Oak Ridge Care Center in Union Grove for all their care and compassion they gave to Kenneth.

Burial will take place on Tuesday, December 13, 2011 at 10:00 AM.
