Survivors include his daughters, Rebecca Anne Bell Minor Arthur Eaves (1939-2003) and Sylvia Josephine "Jo" Bell Cash; half-sister, Iris Bell Nelson (1911-1979); half-brother, Preston "Earl" Bell (1914–1992); stepsisters, Nicie Elizabeth Sitten Burnett (1897–1987) and Emma Sitton LeMaster (1902-1975); stepbrother, Arthur Sitton; and two grandchildren.
Also predeceased by brothers, Walter H. Bell (1893-1901) and Horace Henry Bell (1897–1924); and sisters, Iola Bell (1895-1910) and Lillie Mae Bell Lewis (1901-1963).
Service was held at 3:00 pm, Tuesday, February 20, 1968, at Arch Street Baptist Church by Rev. Rupert Guest; burial was in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens with military rites.
