Died Wednesday, October 24, 2012

Ruby Pearl Covington, 82, formerly of Soapstone Road, Ridgeway, and for the last several years at Blue Ridge Rehab Center in Martinsville, died Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2012, at the rehab center.

She was born Feb. 22, 1930, in Forsyth County, N.C. Preceding her in death was her foster mother, Emma Bowdon (Bowden) Manuel; brothers, Cliff Curry, Henry Curry, Luther Morton, Melvin Morton, Carl Morton, Tom Morton and Bill Covington; sisters, Lou Ella Pickurel, Cora Covington, Eveline Covington and Vergie Morton.

She was a member of Highland Baptist Church and retired from Henry County Plywood.

Surviving are a brother, James (Buster) Morton of Axton; and number of nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be at 4 p.m. Friday at Mt. View Cemetery with visitation to be held from 2 until 3:45 p.m. at Fair Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the home of her niece, Frances Turner, 380 Roosevelt Drive, Ridgeway, at other times.
