Born Nov. 5, 1917, in Morocco, she was a lifelong resident of the Brook area. She married Lawrence C. Freeland on April 16, 1938, in Brook, and he survives.
Mrs. Freeland, a homemaker, was a member of Royal Neighbors and a former member of Brook American Legion Auxiliary.
Also surviving are a son, Bernard L. Freeland of Brook; a daughter, Charlene M. Wicks of Rensselaer; three sisters; Alice Davis of Stanwood, Mich., Dorothy Hardstey and Virginia Freeland, both of Lafayette; and four brothers, Elmer "Pete" Criswell of Lafayette, Robert Criswell of New Orleans, Kenneth Criswell of Orlando, Fla.; Carris Criswill Jr. of Niles, Mich.; and eight grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by a brother and a grandson.
Friends may call 5-8 p.m. Friday at Gerts Funeral Home, Brook. Service there at 1 a.m. Saturday, the Rev. Nancy Nichols officiating. Interment Riverside Cemetery, Brook.
