Mrs. Hardesty was employed by Purdue University at Tarkington Hall for 15 years, retiring in 1989. She was a member of American Legion Post 492 Auxiliary.
Surviving are two daughters, Virginia (Mrs. Richard) Gerke of Holland, IA, and Augusta (Mrs. Harry) Idle of Delphi; three sons, James Hardesty, John Hardesty, both of Lafayette, and Raymond Hardesty of Monticello; three brothers, Carris Criswell of Niles, MI, Elmer Criswell of West Lafayette, and Robert Criswell of Baton Rouge, LA; two sisters, Virginia Freeland of Lafayette and Alice Davis of Stanwood, MI; ten grandchildren, one step-grandchild, and five great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.
