William “Bill” D Curtis, 78, of Blackfoot, Idaho passed away Friday, September 19, 2014 at his home.
Bill was born June 18, 1936 in Blackfoot, Idaho the son of James and Lela Leona Burell Curtis.
He attended grade school in Pingree and graduated from Snake River High School in 1955.
Bill married NeAnne Hales September 27, 1958 in Ely, Nevada and they were later sealed in the Idaho Falls Temple.
He joined the national guard in December 1955 and served for 40 years. Bill was trained as a radio repairman and worked as mechanic for the national Guard.
He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Later Day Saints. Bill was also a member of the Stewart Hoover Post #23 and served as Commander for three years.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing but his passion was raising and racing horsing. He won many trophies and ribbons.
Bill is survived by his wife, NeAnne of Riverton; sons, Clifton Larry and Bradley D. Curtis both of Riverton;brothers, James Curtis of Meridian and Floyd (Florence) Curtis of Firth and his sister, Marjorie Webb of Midvale, Utah.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Randy Ray Curtis and 2 daughters, Debra and Darcy Curtis.
Family will visit with friends on Tuesday evening from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Hawker Funeral Home, 132 South Shilling, Blackfoot and one hour prior to the service at the Church.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Wednesday, September 24, 2014 at the Riverton Chapel 701 west 300 south, Blackfoot, Idaho.
Burial will be held at 4:30 pm at the Riverside-Thomas Cemetery with Military Rites.
