Benning- In Lewiston, on the 25th inst., Robert M. Benning, aged 20 years and 10 months.

Deceased was a native of Texas, raised in Kansas. He came to this country last fall and has since been in the employ of different farmers on the Camas Prairie as a laborer. He was taken sick about a month ago with the typhoid fever at the latter place, and was brought to this city about two weeks ago and taken to the Hotel de France, where he received all the attention and care that a loving brother and kind friends could bestow. He was, apparently, conscious to the last moment of life, though his sufferings were indescribable.

He was an extraordinary large young man,- measuring six feet and two inches in height, and weighing two hundred pounds before being stricken down with the fatal disease.

He leaves a father, two brothers, and one sister in Kansas, and a brother in this city, to mourn his death. His funeral took place at the Court House, District Attorney John Clark officiating, and the remains were followed to the cemetery by a large concourse of our citizens.
