Services for Sarah Willemsen, 95, of Pella, who died November 26, at Pella Community Nursing Home, were held November 29, 1994, at Van Dyk-Duven Funeral Home.

Sarah was born June 1, 1899, in Friesland, the Netherlands, the daughter of Andrew and Gertie Ruisch Miedema. She came to America with her parents at the age of three and was educated in rural grade schools near Pella. She was united in marriage to William Willemsen on August 8, 1916, at the First Christian Reformed Church in Pella. They lived most of their life in the Pella vicinity, moving into Pella in 1941. She was a member of the First Reformed Church of Pella.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William; five brothers, Klaas, William, Gerrit, Yella and Peter; and two sisters, Hattie Ver Woert, and Clara Braafhart.

She is survived by two sons, Henry and Wilfred, both of Pella; a daughter, Gertrude Watson of Long Beach, Calif.; a sister, Gertie Van Brogen of Newton; nine grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren.
