James Wood Colt, Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. James W. Colt and Miss Louise Alice Doty, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lockwood R. Doty were married in New York city, March 31st. 1917, by Rev. Samuel Leland.

OBITUARY

LOUISE ALICE COLT

Mrs. Louise Alice Doty Colt, 73, died December 9 in a Santa Ynez hospital following an extended illness. Born in New York on March 5, 1896, the daughter of the late Lockwood and Jane West Dory, she married James W. Colt Jr. at the Little Church Around the Corner, New York City, in 1918.

Her husband James W. Colt Jr. proceeded her in death in 1931. He was a professional polo player and a manager of the Santa Barbara Polo Club. He was killed in a polo accident in Santa Monica.

Mrs. Colt was a former resident of Geneseo, New York and came to California in 1927, settling in Alhambra. In 1929, Mr. & Mrs. Colt moved to Santa Barbara, where she remained until the time of her death.

Mrs. Colt was a member of the Coral Casino and was active in Republican women's clubs.

Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Bernard R. Foy of Santa Ynec, Mrs. Robert S. Rose of Columbus, Ohio and Mrs. James G. Ross of Chelan, Washington; one son, James Wood Colt III of Dallas, Texas, one sister, Mrs. Howard S. Teall of Geneseo, New York, nine grandchildren, one great granddaughter and one niece.

Services were conducted Saturday in the Welch Ryce Associates Chapel with Rev. Hodge of the Bibles Presbyterian Church of Santa Barbara officiating.
