Mason Lake Alderman, 85, of Alvon, died Sunday, September 30, 2012, at The Greenbrier Manor, in Fairlea, after an extended illness. Born November 6, 1926, in Alvon, he was a son of the late Mitchell S. and Jessie Hoylman Alderman. Mr. Alderman was of the Methodist faith and worked many years for the former Burlington Mills Factory in White Sulphur Springs. Preceding him in death, in addition to his parents, were his wife, Betty Lynn Jones Alderman, in 1980; and a daughter, Linda Gail White in 1975; also, a sister, Freda Wade; and brothers, Kermit and Kenton Alderman. Survivors include his son, Larry Mason (Kim) Alderman of White Sulphur Springs; a brother, Charles Dale (Barbara) Alderman of White Sulphur Springs; sisters, Olga Wade of White Sulphur Springs, Mabel (Ralph) Hardiman of Belle and Dorothy Alderman of South Charleston; grandchildren, Jaired Lane White (Kim), Brooke Taylor (Justin), Brittany McGraw, Bradlee Alderman and Brynn Alderman; great-grandchildren, Kaine Taylor, Greyson Taylor and Amber and Lane White; plus numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends. His funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, October 4, at Shanklin Funeral Home, White Sulphur Springs, with the Rev. Gene Sizemore officiating. Burial will follow in Rosewood Cemetery, Lewisburg. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, October 3, at the funeral home. Shanklin Funeral Home, White Sulphur Springs, is serving the family.
