21 OTU's Vickers Wellington (#N2800) aircraft was on an operational sortie when it developed engine failure. The engine caught fire, causing the Wellington to crash near Aston Magna and taking the lives of four of its aircrew and seriously injuring the fifth airman.

RAFVR Sergeant Theodore DUTTON.
