Class of 1929 - Frank Staab and other baseball legends from Hays and the surrounding area were the subject of "Crack of the Bat heard throughout Ellis County History", an article in the local newspaper.
Both the big leagues and the minor leagues have been blessed with a few of SJMA/TMP/TMP-Marian players, including Larry Staab '61, Greg Korbe '74, Mike Befort '78, & Lyle Befort '83. Other baseball notoriety mentioned were Coach Dusty Glassman '34, Hubert Urban '42, Curtis Befort '81, Rusty Schueler '82 & Billy Schafer '85.
