Alfred W. Butler Sr. Alfred W. Butler Sr., 62, of West Front Street, Clearfield, died Saturday, Dec. 5, at Clearfield Hospital.
Born March 22,1925, in Bradford Township, he was the son of Guard M. and Dollie (Stevens) Butler, who preceded him in death along with two sisters.
Mr. Butler is survived by his wife, Lois Palmer Butler, whom he married Jan. 30, 1947; three children, Alfred W. Butler Jr. of Morrisdale, Crystal Shaw of Curwensville, and John G. Butler of Clearfield; two stepchildren; seven grandchildren; three brothers, Robert G. and Franklin L., both of Clearfield, and Willard L. of Midlothian, Ill.; and a sister, Mrs. Kyle (Mary Jane) Krebs of Himes, Ore.
Mr. Butler was employed in the maintenance department at the Clearfield Holiday Inn.
He was a Protestant by faith and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
Services will be held tomorrow at 1 p.m. at the Bennett and Houser Funeral Home, Clearfield, with the Rev. Stacey Barr officiating.
Interment will follow in Bradford Cemetery, where members of the Clearfield American Legion and VFW will conduct graveside military honors.
Friends will be received at the funeral home today from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. and tomorrow until the service. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society or to a charity of the donor's choice.
