Lynn A. Yount, 80, of Peoria, IL passed away Thursday, September 18, 2014 at the Richard L. Owens Hospice Home, Peoria.
He was born November 26, 1933 in Benson, IL to Conrad E. and Florence E. (Linnemann) Yount.
He married Edith (Alessio) Yount on October 31, 1964 in Grove City, PA.
Surviving are Edith of Peoria Heights; and six children, Rebecca (William) Creek of Mapleton, Philip Yount of Peoria, William (Andrea) Yount of Lacey, WA, Kathryn (Matthew) Rademaker of Mapleton, Benjamin Yount of Chillicothe, and Gina (Justin) Jeffries of Groveland.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and four sisters.
Lynn retired from the Illinois Department of Corrections and from the State of Illinois as an education administrator.
He served in the United States Navy for four years during the Korean War.
He was a member of the Peoria American Legion Post #2, Knights of Columbus, Spaulding Council 427, and the Peoria German-American Society.

Burial will be in Springdale Cemetery, Peoria.
