Early Life: Lynn was born to Joseph Fredrick and Ruby Strasburg Woolston in Provo, Utah, on January 2, 1930, the youngest of two sons.
Life's Work/Service/Interests: Upon graduating from Provo High School, Lynn served in the Western Canadian LDS Mission. After completing his mission, he returned to Provo and enrolled in Brigham Young University where he became re-acquainted with Nona Shields of Trail, British Columbia. Three dates later, the match was made and they were married in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on June 17, 1953. Nona would later reminisce about first meeting Elder Woolston when the missionaries were part of a skit performed at a Gold and Green Ball in her hometown. Following his BYU graduation, Lynn taught school in Richfield, Utah, and later, in Lehi. During the summer of 1962, Lynn and Nona moved their young family to Hayward, California, where he taught in the Hayward Unified School District until his retirement in 1991. Lynn also completed his Master's degrees in Education and Psychology, and practiced marriage and family counseling in both California and Utah. Throughout his life, Lynn was devoted to the LDS faith, serving as missionary, Seminary teacher, Scout leader, Ward Mission Leader, High Councilor, High Priest Group Leader, Bishop, and Counselor in the Hayward California Stake presidency. Lynn Taylor Woolston passed away in Salt Lake City, Utah, on September 15, 2014, of causes incident to age. He was 84.
Survived By: His wife, Nona; his three children: Tom, Dayle and Luanne (his favorite daughter); 15 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Preceded In Death By: His parents; older brother, Paul; and many beloved aunts and uncles.
