Rebecca E. French, 93, of Yates City, formerly of Elmwood, died Saturday, Oct. 1, 1994, at Galena Park Home in Peoria Heights, where she lived for the past two months.

Born March 4, 1901, in Correll, Minn., to Hans Peter and Elizabeth Weeding, she married Cecil J. Dalton in 1918. She later married James L. French on Sept. 8, 1950. He died July 15, 1975. One stepson, five brothers and four sisters also preceded her in death.

Surviving are one son, Earl Dalton of Peoria; two stepsons, Warren French of rural Brimfield and Neal French of Thomaston, Ga.; and one stepdaughter, Georgia Weaver of Peoria.

She was a 66-year member of Yates City Order of Eastern Star Chapter 256.

Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
