Funeral services for Mrs. Hilary P. Konz, 74, Sioux City and formerly of Alton were held on Thursday, March 26, at St. Mary’s Church, Alton. Burial was in the parish cemetery.

Mrs. Kuntz died March 22 after a brief illness at the Marian Health Center, St. Vincent Unit, Sioux City.

She was born in Alton on March 21, 1907, to Mr. and Mrs. Mathias and Magdalen Gehlen Minten and was raised in Alton. She lived there until marrying on September 25, 1929, and then moved to Algona. She and her husband later farmed in the Granville and Alton are for a number of years before moving to Sioux City in 1942. Mr. Kuntz owned and operated the B & B Grocery Store at 24th and Court Street, Sioux City, for eight years before retiring in 1957.

She was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church, Sioux City, their Rosary Society and Mission Club. She was active in United Fund, hospital volunteer work and Northwest Arts and Crafts. She was also a member of the YWCA.

Survivors include her husband, Hilary; three sons, Larry, Wayne and Cyril; one daughter, Alice; two sisters, Viola & Rose; and 12 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and two sisters.
