Rene Leon Ardans, 83, of Sparks, Nevada, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 12, 2014 at home. Born in Eureka, Nevada to Marie Louise and Leon Ardans, he lived most of his life in Sparks, Nevada.Rene was a good hearted man that entertained his friends and family by mimicking, storytelling, and jokes. He was proud of his Basque heritage and would often offer a helping hand to those in need.

Rene worked as a cattle rancher most of his life and in his spare time he enjoyed dancing, fishing, sports and spending time with his grandchildren.

Rene is survived by his best friend and life partner, Virgina Ardans, two sons, Leon Ardans and his wife Joyce (Stewart) of Reno, NV, Lance Ardans and his wife Lisa (Barker) of Sparks, NV and Gina Ardans- Morelli of Las Vegas, NV; eight grandchildren; Michael, Chris, Brian, Adam, Andrew Ardans and Dante, Dominic, and Stefano Morelli; his sister Rose Ascuaga of Carson City, NV, brother Pete Ardans of Dewey, Arizona; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Rene was preceded in death by his mother and father, Marie Louise and Leon Ardans; his son, Leonard Ardans and grandson, Jason Ardans.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, September 18th at 10:30 am at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Prater and McCarran in Sparks. Burial will follow at Mountain View Cemetery.
