Mr. Albert Heiken died in the hospital in Chicago at 11 o'clock last Saturday night from the effects of an operation to which he submitted about three weeks ago. He was getting along nicely and was supposed to be out of danger until last Saturday, when he suddenly became worse and a dispatch was sent to his family. Mrs. Heiken left for Chicago on Saturday evening, but did not reach there until after the death of her husband.
Mr. Heiken was one of our substantial and well-known farmers. He was 52 years of age, and leaves a wife and twelve children to mourn his sad death, the eldest of which is 20 years old. He was twice married. The funeral was held at 2 o'clock on Tuesday at the Lutheran church, the services being conducted by Rev. Lutz. The remains were interred in the Prairie Hill cemetery.
