They were married in Ireland about 1698 and immigrated to America in 1719, settling New London, Connecticut. On April 27, 1727 they bought a farm in Voluntown, Connecticut and settled there. They were spiritual minded people and brought a recommend from their church in Ireland and were received into the First Church of Christ (Congregational) in September 18, 1728. After the death of his wife Margaret, Alexander married Janet Rogers of Voluntown, Connecticut, November 17, 1732. The children of Alexander and Margaret are:
