Betty was a graduate of St. Joseph Grade School and the Fond du Lac Senior High School. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, St. Patrick Church and Presentation Parish, North Fond du Lac. Betty belonged to the Daughters of Isabella and was formerly a volunteer for the Loaves and Fishes meal program. She was a woman of great faith.
Betty was employed for many years as secretary for Shillings Service. She loved her family and had a special love for her grandchildren. Betty enjoyed listening to country music and spending time in the outdoors.
Betty is survived by four sons, Joseph (Shirley) of Suamico, Michael of Fond du Lac, Mark (Joyce) of Fond du Lac and James (Sandi) of Franklin; three daughters, Mary (Tom) Thuerwachter of Fond du Lac, Patricia Adelman of Green Bay and Elizabeth (Paul) Bergman of Fond du Lac; three sisters, Marjorie Ilk, Patricia Gratzke and Nancy (William) Binner; 11 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren; special friend, Lorraine Stollfuss; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Preceding Betty in death are her parents; husband, Joseph; sister, Mary Sonnentag; brother, Lee Dolan; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law.
Visitation: The family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday, September 17, 2014 from 9:00 AM until 10:45 AM at Presentation Catholic Church, 701 Michigan Avenue, North Fond du Lac. Fr. Edward Sippel, classmate of Betty, will preside.
Service: At 11:00 AM on Wednesday, September 17, at Presentation Catholic Church, a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Burial of the cremated remains will be at Calvary Cemetery.
Memorials in Betty's name may be directed to St. Jude's Children's Hospital or the local St. Vincent de Paul Society.
Her family is especially grateful to the Fond du Lac Lutheran Home 3rd floor staff and Agnesian Hospice west side team for their excellent care given to Betty and all the family.
