He was born Nov. 6, 1929, in Fond du Lac, the son of Leon Irving and May Manila Doll Dolan.
Lee was a graduate of St. Mary's Springs Academy class of 1947.
He served in the U.S. Army from 1951 to 1953, during the Korean Conflict. He trained at Fort Mammouth, N.J.
He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Community.
On Feb. 1, 1951, he married Virginia C. Schwandt at St. Mary's Catholic Church.
Lee was an altar boy for many years at St. Joseph's Catholic Church and served as an usher at St. Patrick's Catholic Church.
Lee worked for over 40 years with the Soo Line Railroad and the Soo Line Employee Credit Union. He retired in 1987.
He enjoyed painting, gardening, collecting coins, playing cards, watching the Green Bay Packers, and loved being with his family. His greatest joy was his six grandsons.
Lee was very proud of being able to donate over 20 gallons of blood to the Red Cross over his lifetime.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Jinny; five children, M. Christine Dolan, Fond du Lac, L. John (Paula) Dolan, Fond du Lac, Charles (Lynn) Dolan, Fond du Lac, Thomas (Barb) Dolan, Fond du Lac, Catherine (Al) Quinn, Mount Calvary; six grandsons, Christopher Dolan, Nader Abushhab, Daniel (fianc?e, Kristin Bemis) Dolan, Steven (Libbey) Quinn, David Quinn, Michael Dolan; two great-granddaughters, Aubrey and Avril Quinn; four sisters, Marjorie (Greg) Ilk, Oshkosh, Betty Adelman, Fond du Lac, Patricia Gratzke, Valley Center, CA, Nancy (Bill) Binner, North Fond du Lac; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Mary Sonnentag; four brothers-in-law, Harold Sonnentag, Joseph Adelman, Charles Gratzke and Eugene Abler; and one nephew, Goeffrey Ilk.
VISITATION: Visitation hours will be from 4 to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, June 29, 2011, at Holy Family Church, 271 Fourth Street Way, Fond du Lac.
SERVICES: The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, June 29, at Holy Family Church.
Cremation has taken place.
Inurnment will be held at the Chapel of the Risen Christ Mausoleum at Calvary Cemetery.
