Thelma Leighty, 61, of 1432 Barnes Drive, Wooster, died Tuesday night at Wooster Community Hospital.
Services will be at 3. p.m. at McIntire Funeral Home, with Pastor W. Keith Snyder officiating. Burial will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens. Friends may call Thursday from 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
She was born in Cromwell, Ky., in 1919 to John and Maude Render Smith and on Aug. 24, 1936, married Robert Leighty, who survives.
She had attended the First Church of God.
Other survivors include five daughters, Mrs. Jerry (Ruby) Nickles of Loudonville, Mrs. Gerald (Ruth) Aukerman, Mrs. Duane (Arline) Aukerman and Mrs. Randy (Beth Ann) Blair, all of Wooster, and Mrs. Lloyd (Bonnie) Boreman of Ashland; one son, William Leighty of Tampa, Fla.; 17 grandchildren; one great-grandchild, and four sisters, Mrs. Myron (Irene) Krieter of Smithville, Mrs. Clarence(Elma) Clark of Tampa, Fla., Mrs. Wayne (Maurine) Shriver of Titusville, Fla., and Mrs. Myrtle Jolliff of Youngstown. One daughter, Pauline, and one sister, Myrtis Wertz, died previously.

Services for Mrs. Thelma Leighty were held Friday afternoon at the McIntire Funeral Home with Pastor W. Keith Snyder officiating. Burial was at Sherwood Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers were Jon, Duane and Leslie Nickles, and Jeff, Rod, and Mike Aukerman.
