Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at Peace Congregational church in Culbertson for Mrs. John Morland, who died here at her home on Friday, following an extended illness.

Fred Sprenger, student pastor, officiated at the service. He was assisted by the Rev. M.G. Braun, pastor of the local Evangelical U.B. church.

During the church service, a quartet composed of Carl Schafer, John Fries, Jack Deines, and Alex Eisenach sang "Are You Weary?" and "Las Nicht Gehen." The song, "Beautiful Isle," was sung as a duet by Myrna Schafer and Leona Brehm. Mrs. Elmer Cook was the piano accompanist for the musical selections.

Burial was in the Culbertson cemetery with the Breland Funeral chapel in charge. Serving as pallbearers were Emamel Ecker, Harold Sinner, George Lee Dinges, John Morland Jr., Lloyd Morland, and George Morland. Honorary pallbearers were Carl Schafer, Earl Buzzell, John Eckhardt, Adam Hook, John Fries, and John Barnes.

Elizabeth Krum, daughter of Conrad and Kathrine Krum, was born in Kutter, Russia on October 12, 1879 and died at Culbertson, Nebraska on June 21, 1957 at the age of 77 years, 8 months, and 9 days.

She was married in Russia in 1900 to Adam Eckas and in 1906 the family came to America where they made their first home in Marion county, Kansas. Mr. and Mrs. Eckas had five children, two sons and three daughters. One son, Henry, preceded his mother in death. While living in Wichita, Kansas in 1911, the father of the family died of injuries received in an accident.

Following the death of Mr. Eckas, his wife and children returned to Marion county, Kansas where in 1912 Mrs. Eckas was married to Phillip Schwabauer in Durham, Kansas. They were the parents of four children, all of whom survive their mother. Mr. Schwabauer died at Durham in 1921.

In 1923 Mrs. Schwabauer and her family moved to Colorado, where they resided at Windsor and Severance over a period of several years.

Her marriage to John Morland of Culbertson took place on June 21, 1930. The Morland family, which included four of Mr. Morland's children by a previous marriage, established their home in the Culbertson community.

Mrs. Morland became ill about a year ago and had been bedfast since February of this year. Her death occurred on the 27th anniversary of her marriage to Mr. Morland.

The deceased was baptized and confirmed in the Reformed Lutheran church in Russia. At the time of her death she was a member of the Culbertson Congregational church and its Ladies' Aid.

Survivors in addition to her husband include one son and three daughters of her first marriage, they being Adam Eckas of Eaton, Colorado; Mrs. Mollie McCauley of Roll, Arizona; Mrs. Esther Dinges of Wiggins, Colorado; and Mrs. Viola Frieson of Little Rock, California; four daughters of her second marriage, Mrs. Clara Heinze of Eaton, Colorado; June Schwabauer of Torrington, Wyoming; Mrs. Beth Richter of Greeley, Colorado; and Mrs. Sally Richter of Hayes Center, Nebraska; four step-sons, Henry, George, John Jr., and Lloyd Morland, all of Culbertson; 27 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and one brother-in-law, Henry Morland of Merrill, Wisconsin.
