John H. Zeigler, Sr., 64, of Rte. 2, Hahira, died at his residence Friday night after a short illness. A native of Echols County, he had lived his entire life in this area including Hahira for the past eight years. He was a foreman for the Lowndes County road department, was a member of the Georgia Peace Officer's Association and was a member of Shiloh United Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Lois Mims Zeigler of Hahira; four duaghters, Mrs. Stanley Cox of Valdosta, Mrs. Jim Greene of Eastman, Mrs. Joyce F. Fields of Monterey, Calif., and Mrs. Irwin Gandy of Cairo; three sons, Gene Zeigler and Jack Zeigler, both of Hahira and John H. Zeigler, Jr. of Rock Island, Ill.; one brother, W.J. Zeigler of Orlando, Fla. and 12 grandchildren. Funeral services are to be held Sunday at 4 p.m. at Carson McLane Funeral Home with burial to be in Sunset Hill Cemetery.
