Billy Joe "Bill" Barber, 76, of , died September 10, 2014 at Baptist Hospital in Little Rock.

He was born October 30, 1938 in Nettleton, Arkansas to Ziba Jefferson Barber and Bertha Christine Belcher.

Bill retired after 20 years from the United States Air Force and settled in Arkansas. He was an natural born salesman and worked at various dealerships serving his neighbors in Central Arkansas for the next 20 years. He earned many awards, including the Top GMC Truck Salesperson while employed at Russell Chevrolet.

Golf was Bill's passion and he played religiously with his buddies all through retirement. He loved to be outside on the course and enter into "friendly wagers" with his team mates. It is certain his laugh and 'trash talk' will be missed on the course.

He is survived by the love of his life, his wife of 36 years, Grace Marie Hunt of Cabot, his children Dianna Marie (Gary) Mitchell and William Eugene Barber of Alaska. Bill has two stepsons: Dan (Barbara) Hagar of Clarksville, AR and Ron (Wendy) Hagar of Colorado. He is also survived by one brother, Ziba James "Jimmy" (Shelley) Barber of Stuttgart, AR and one sister, Sarah Doris Evelyn Harrison of Lebanon, TN.

"Poppy Bill" will be remembered lovingly by his wife, siblings, 4 children, 8 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. He will be missed especially by his fluffy best friend and companion everywhere, Brandy, his beloved family pet.

Graveside service at 12 Noon, Friday, September 12, 2014 at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery. Arrangements made by Roller-Owens Funeral Home,
