EDWARDS - Carl Ray Mathis, 47, of Edwards passed away at 3:56 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2014, in Edwards.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 13, 2014, at Clary Funeral Home, 3004 W. Lake Ave., Peoria, with the Rev. Dean Grabill officiating. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today, Sept. 12, also at the funeral home. Interment will be in St. Patrick Cemetery in Kickapoo.
Carl was born on Aug. 26, 1967, in Peoria, a son of Bill and Ruth (Evatt) Mathis. He married Melissa Carlton on Sept. 23, 1995, in Brimfield. They were later divorced.
He is survived by his parents of Brimfield; daughters, Jade, Jasmine, Madison and Kiley Mathis of Viola; brother, Jerry Mathis of Brimfield; and half sister, Caroline (Bob) Coup of Peoria.
Carl was employed with Peoria Laborers International Local 165 and was formerly employed with Laborers Local 75 in Joliet.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
