Millard Fillmore Whisman was the son of Moses and Gillean (Stamper) Whisman.

Millard married Lillian Mann on June 20, 1906. They had 15 children.

Millard and Lillian moved to Franklin, Ohio in 1927 where he worked for the Franklin Board and Paper Company which became the Stone Container Corporation until illness forced his retirement.
