David Van Fleet, age 91, a resident of Kingsville, Texas passed away Tuesday, September 9, 2014 in Corpus Christi, Texas. He was born October 13, 1922 in Dallas, Texas to William M. Van Fleet and Nellie Clara Glass Van Fleet. Mr. Van Fleet was the owner of David Van Fleet Construction until his retirement. He was a graduate of H.M. King High School and attended Texas A&M University, College Station. David was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of World War II and life member of Marine Raiders Association. He was a faithful member of Christ United Methodist Church, the church that his construction company built. David's favorite hobbies were hunting and ranching.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ardean Bareis Van Fleet; parents; and two sisters.

David is survived by his children, Jane Turner (Dan), Mary Sammons, Rusty Van Fleet (Kathy), Bruce Van Fleet (Lisa), Jody Van Fleet (Annette) and Carolyn Van Fleet; 14 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Burial will follow in Kingsville at Chamberlain Cemetery with full military honors provided by the Veteran of Kleberg County Funeral Military Detail.

Active pallbearers will be his grandsons, John Turner, Don Turner, Eddie Van Fleet, David Chase Van Fleet, Heston Van Fleet and Harris Van Fleet.

Services are entrusted to Turcotte-Piper Mortuary, 205 General Cavazos Blvd., Kingsville, Texas.
