PECATONICA - Doris H. Whitney, 68, 513 John St., died at 11:33 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 22, 1993, in Rockford Memorial Hospital after a short illness. Born Dec. 31, 1924, in Pecatonica, daughter of Oscar A. and Hulda (Spjut) Anderson. Lifetime Pecatonica area resident. Married Donale E. Whitney in Pecatonica, June 27, 1942. Employed as meat wrapper by Eickman's Processing Co., Seward, retiring in 1980. Member First Pecatonica Lutheran Church. Former member VFW, Pecatonica. Graduated from Pecatonica High School.

Survivors include her husband, Donale E. Whitney, Pecatonica; two daughters, Sandra (David) McKee and Ann White, Pecatonica; four sons, Scott (Peggy) Whitney, Winnebago, Steven (Barbara), Rocfkord, David (Cindy) Whitney, Pecatonica, and Jeffrey (Wendy) Whitney, Davis; two sisters, Gladys Eckburg and Ruth Seyler, Pecatonica; 17 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren. Predeceased by her parents, three brothers and one grandson.

Services at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 28, in Seward Congregational United Church of Christ, with the Rev. Robert Hosto officiating. Burial in Pecatonica Cemetery. Visitation from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Monday at Kenneth L Countryman Funeral Home, 529 Washington St., Pecatonica. Memorial established for the family.
