Obituary from Helena's Independent Record 03/08/2006:

Theodore ‘Teddy' ‘Theo' Superak passed away on March 2, 2006, after a brief illness. Considered by many to be "the cutest little old man in Helena," Theo touched the hearts of many with his ready smile and the devotion he displayed to his beloved companion, Gloria Christensen, as residents of SonHeaven Assisted Living and Big Sky Care Center.

Born April 21, 1914, in Perth Amboy, N.J., to Stephan Szuperak and Julia Kotyuk, Teddy spent part of his childhood in Hungary, served in the Civilian Conservation Corps and began a 35-year career as a truck driver for GAF Corp. During World War II he served as a U.S. Army car mechanic in the Pacific, rising to the rank of sergeant and receiving three medals for his service. He married Mary Juck in 1945 and proudly raised four sons, putting each through college. He lived near Teddy Jr. in California for 10 years and moved to Helena in 2004. He was preceded in death by his wife in 1978, his brothers Steve and Victor, and his sister Margaret.

He is survived by his sons and their families: Theodore Jr. and Mary of Davis, Calif.; Laughing Water (formerly Paul) and former wife India Supera of Helena; John and Mary Otto of Stockton, N.J.; Peter and Nancy Margolin of Carrboro, N.C.; granddaughters Crystal Water, Hillary, Claire and Nita; grandson Andrew; sister-in-law Coral Superak and many nieces and nephews.
