Bernice V. Alltop, 90 years old of Waukegan, IL passed away peacefully at her home. She was born April 12, 1918 in Waukegan the daughter of the late John and Bertha (Danauskas) Vaicys and was a life long resident of Waukegan where she was a member of St. Dismas Church. Bernice retired from Abbott Laboratories after 45 years. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting and traveling. On July 18, 1984 she married Lacoe Alltop in Waukegan.
She is survived by her husband, Lacoe; her daughter, Julie (Robert) Sordyl of Lake Bluff, IL; her nine grandchildren, Jim (Susie) Sordyl, Dawn (Geoff) Robbins, Kevin Sordyl, Linda (Kris) Kidwell, Walter (Jan) Paramski, Tim Paramski, Brian (Lorie) Paramski, Melissa (Dave) Giordano and Cheryl (Ross) Pettit and her 16 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 35 years, Chester Pasiewicz; her two daughters, Lorraine Paramski and Marlene Niebur; and her brother, Raymond Vaicys.
Funeral services with Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, March 6, 2009 at St. Dismas Church, 2600 Sunset Ave., Waukegan, IL with visitation starting at the church from 8:30 AM. Interment will follow in Ascension Cemetery, Libertyville, IL. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions in her memory to Star Hospice of Vista Health, 99 Greenwood Ave., Waukegan, IL 60085. Arrangements were entrusted to the STRANG FUNERAL HOME OF ANTIOCH.
