Mr. Alderman was a well-known Holyoke architect. Among his designs are the Masonic Temple on Chestnut Street, Park National Bank, Elks Home, Holyoke High School, and several churches.

He was married to Cora Belle with whom he had 6 children, two of whom died in infancy. Cora predeceased him in 1933.
