Alvie Finley Robbins, of Hanford, passed away in Bakersfield.

Alvie was born in Maysville, Okla. to Harry and Mary Robbins. He moved to Corcoran, as a young man and graduated from Corcoran High School in 1948. While attending Corcoran High School, he was a member of the football team and played against Bob Mathias of Tulare.

Alvie served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict, stationed in Japan.

He was employed by Swift and Company Trucking for over 30 years.

Alvie was kind and a caring person and took good care of his mother, Mary.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Mary and his brothers, Troy and Harold.

Alvie is survived by his sisters, Betty Ramos of Hanford, Wanda Angle of Fresno and Geenita Sturdivant of Texas; his brothers, Leroy Robbins of Washington, Ted Robbins and Bill Robbins, both of Texas; numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held at a later date.
Remembrances may be made to Optimal Hospice Care, 4700 Stockdale Highway, Bakersfield, CA 93309.

Arrangements are under the direction of People's Funeral Chapel in Hanford.
