Delos J. Witzenberg, 92, Pella, died Nov. 18 at Siesta Park Manor in Oskaloosa.
He was born Sept. 12, 1892 west of Pella to John and Maria Van Zante Witzenberg. He attended Silver Grove rural grade school near Pella. He married Tunnetta Van Iperen on Dec. 11, 1919 and they farmed on his family's farm until 1944. He continued to farm in partnership with his son Harold until 1057 [sic, 1957]. He and his wife remained residents of Pella, later moving to Fairhaven East. In 1983 they became patients of the Siesta Park Manor in Oskaloosa. He was a member of Trinity Reformed Church in Pella.
He is survived by two children: Harold Witzenberg, Pella and Marion J Witzenberg, Peoria, Illinois; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; a sister: Luedna J. Witzenberg and an infant son Louis E.
Services were held Nov 21 at Trinity Reformed Church with the Rev. Donald Plantinga officiating. Interment was made at Oakwood Cemetery in Pella.
Memorials can be designated for the Kidney Foundation of Iowa.
Arrangements were made through Van Dyk-Duven Funeral Home.
