Service for Abraham Van Ronkel, 92, of 5242 Hyde Park Blvd., will be held at 11 a.m. tomorrow in Mount Isaiah Israel Cemetery, 6600 Addison St. (Now known as Zion Gardens Cemetery)
Mr. Van Ronkel died Saturday in Michael Reese hospital. He was president and owner of the old Star Dry Goods store, 83rd Street and Kenwood avenue, for many years until it was purchased by Marshall Field and Co. He later served as the store's manager and as chairman of its board of directors. He was also a charter member of the Woodlawn Business Men's Association.
Surviving is his widow, Isabel. A son, Rip Van Ronkel, a motion picture script writer, preceded him in death.
