Adele "Lee" Aliberti passed away on September 5, 2014.
"GG", as she was known to her family, was born on May 22, 1915 in New York City, the middle daughter of Oreste and Maria Ferri.
She lived 90 years of her life in New York, moving to Cary, North Carolina in 2005 where she recently celebrated her 99th birthday.
GG was predeceased by her parents, her husband, Vincent "Jimmy" Aliberti, and her grandson, Thomas Joseph Aliberti. She is survived by her sons and their wives, Robert and Bernadette Aliberti of Cary, NC and Joseph and Angela Aliberti of Glendale, AZ. Also surviving is her sister Emelia D'Angelo of Wyckoff, NJ, her granddaughters and their husbands; Barbara and Drew Whitaker and Bethann and Scott Kahn and 5 great-granddaughters; Kathryn, Kelley, Natalie, Emily and Sophia. Lee had many dear friends, both in the Northeast and in the South who will miss her dearly.
A Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated on September 10, 2014 at St. Michael the Archangel Church in Cary at 12 Noon. The family will gather one hour prior to the Mass in the gathering space at St. Michael's and a luncheon will follow at Heritage Pines Community Center following the Mass. A visitation will be held at R. Stutzman Funeral Home in New Hyde Park, NY on September 12, 2014. On September 13 at 11:00 AM GG will be buried in Mt. St. Mary's Cemetery, Flushing, New York alongside her husband.
