Fletcher Reid Mitchell, well- known farmer of Hiddenite, Route 1, died Monday after a serious Illness of' weeks, He was born November 28, 1875, In Alexander county and died July 7, 1941, at the age of 86 years and seven months.
He was a highly respected citizen and was loved by every one. Mr. Mitchell Joined Rocky Springs Methodist church in early life and remained a member until death.
He is survived by his widow, who before marriage was Miss Maude Smith, and five sons, Clarence, Earnest, Maurice, filbert, and Allen, all of the county, one daughter, Mrs. Glover Mayberry, also of the county; also nineteen grandchildren and one great-grand-child 5 two sisters. Mrs. Sallie Fortner, of Little Rock. Ark., and Mrs. Sudie McLain, of Mooresville.
Funeral services. were held Wednesday afternoon at 3 o'clock from Rocky Springs Methodist church by Rev. G. 0. White, assisted by Rev. Noah Hayes, Rev. Elzie Myers and Rev. Mr. Jsenhour, Interment followed in the church cemetery. The fmllbearers were Gaither Smith, Roy Millsaps, Emmit Mitchell, Emrnit Millsaps, Marvin Mitchell and t»aul Mitchell.
The many beautiful floral tributes were in charge of Miss Edith Mayberry and Mrs. Dan Lambert, assisted by Ethel, Colene, Ruby, Ruth and Lowrette Mayberry, Kathryn, Pauline Connolly, Eunice, Hall, Betty, Maggie and Gilbert Mitchell, Marie and Eloise Childers, Jeroldine Patterson, Janie Lou Gibson, Mesdames
