Obituary in The Shreveport (LA) Times November 18, 2017:

Shreveport, LA - Funeral services for Judy Kirkpatrick Hicks, 94, will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 21, 2017 at Rose-Neath Southside Chapel. Officiating will be Reverend David Worthington. Interment will follow at Forest Park West Cemetery.

Judy was born on March 15th, 1923 to Emily Alice Rainwater and Joseph Andrew Reeves Kirkpatrick in Patterson, Missouri and went to be with her Lord and Savior on November 16th, 2017. Judy was a very loving mother, mama and mawmaw who will be missed dearly. She was a member of Mangum Memorial United Methodist Church.

Judy was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Hicks; son, Roger Hicks; brothers, Bill, Ed, Elmer, and Ellis Kirkpatrick; sisters, Irene Magnusson, Inez Martin, Betty Kime and Carol Young. Left to cherish her beautiful memories are her son, Dick Hicks and wife Sharon (Baton Rouge, LA); daughters, Kay Broussard and husband Don (Shreveport, LA) and Marian Patterson and husband Tom (Baton Rouge, LA); sisters, Dorothy Carrow (Dog Walk, Kentucky), Edna Darden (Cedar Hill, Missouri) and Freda McMurray (St. James, Missouri); grandchildren, Richie and Dusty Hicks, Julie Riches, Craig, Carla and Donnie Broussard and Connor Patterson; great-grandchildren, Aynsleigh and Jake Hicks, Schyler Vicknair and Zivi Hicks, Jett and Olivia Broussard, Kyndall and Gage Strolis and 37 nieces and nephews.

Honoring her as pallbearers will be Richie Hicks, Dusty Hicks, Craig Broussard, Donnie Broussard, Connor Patterson and Jimmy Pickett.

The family would like to thank Shirley and Lisa for their care and dedication. A special thanks to Dr. Huan Le for his personable care and guidance along with his very caring staff members.

In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations can be made to Mangum Memorial United Methodist Church, located at 3939 Pines Road in Shreveport, LA 71119 or Alzheimer's Association.
