She was the daughter of David Darnell and Maggie (Lynch) Burt and married Pervis Estle Barnes - 13 Jan 1935 - Franklin Co., Tennessee. She was a resident of Moore County in the 1920 Census. Her obituary, which follows, states she was a "native" of Franklin County, it is likely she was born in Moore County and lived in Franklin County as a child.

Mrs. Barnes, 65, Dies of Illness --

Mrs. Nellie B. Barnes of Estill Springs, wife of P. E. Barnes, died Tuesday morning at Franklin County Hospital following a short illness. She was 65.

Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. today at Watson Funeral Home. Burial will be in Franklin Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Barnes, a Franklin County native, was born October 21, 1914. She was the daughter of David and Maggie Lynch Burt.

Survivors, besides her husband, include three daughters, Mrs. Kenneth Jones, Huntsville, Mrs. James Tipps and Mrs. Frank Parham, Nashville; a sister, Mrs. Dale Herget, Baltimore, Maryland; and ten grandchildren.
