Agneda Lucero, age 92, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on September 2, 2014.
Agneda, a resident of Albuquerque, was born in Sapello, NM on October 27, 1921. Agneda is survived by her children, Dorothy Gutiérrez, Pearl Trujillo and her husband, Al, Tillie Gutiérrez and her husband, Coy, Marlo Lucero and his wife, Elva, Enedean García and her husband, Tony, Patsy Maestas and her husband, Ron, Theresa De Herrera and her husband, Brian, Linda Burton and her husband, Rick and Rose Zamora and her husband, Joe, son-in-law, Chano Martínez, daughter-in-law, Stella Lucero, 44 grandchildren, 46 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, along with numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.
Agneda was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Tilo Lucero, daughter, Adella Martínez, sons, Phillip Lucero and Moises Lucero and son-in-law, Conrad Gutiérrez.
Her family would like to give a special thank you to Clara Pizarro for her loving care and attention for their mother.
Agneda grew up in Los Alamos, near Las Vegas, NM. As a young girl, she enjoyed riding her horse, “Bob.”
Agneda married Tilo in 1944 and they moved to Albuquerque in 1951. Agneda had many hobbies but especially loved cooking for and spending time with her family. Agneda will always be remembered for her delicious tortillas, her loving smile, a gentle heart and love for the Lord.
A Rosary will be held at 10:00 a.m. with mass of Christian Burial to follow at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 6, 2014, at Holy Ghost Catholic Church, 833 Arizona St. SE. Burial will take place at Mount Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Andrew Trujillo, Michael Gutiérrez, Justin Maestas, Chris Burton, Anthony Martínez, Aaron Tonihka and Brandon Zamora.
