In researching I found that some records say that Springfield Mass was his place of birth, some say Newark.
In finding his father's death notice in that paper-
"Joseph Dolloff died at his home on
the Lyndon road, about a mile and a
half south of here, last week Wednes
day evening, after a serious illness
of about three weeks.Mr. Dolloff was
seventy-three years of age and had
been in poor health for a long time.
He lived in Newark the first fifty
years of his life, after which he
moved to Dixville, P. Q. Twelve
years ago he returned to Newark,
where he lived for a time, and then
purchased his home in Burke."
No residence of Mass was spoken of here. And at the time of Fred's birth his father's timeline says Newark.
Fred's death was a sad one due to falling in an elevator shaft while at work as a janitor.
